Made for the Father
Made for the Father
Whatever the circumstances of our conception - whether we were planned for, and wanted, by our parents or not - the Father says to all of us: "you were made for Me".
In Genesis chapter 1, we read the account of the creation of our world. God spoke the word - "Light be!" and the Holy Spirit, Who had been "hovering over the face of the waters", went into action. Everything God created was amazing but the best was yet to come!
Man was different - the Godhead agreed together that they would make man like Themselves and put him in charge of the Creation (Gen 1:26) and then God Himself breathed life into man (Gen 2:7)
He put more time and effort into taking the woman out of man (Gen 2:21-22) Mankind is the crown of Creation (Ps 8:3-8) ['angels' in v.5 should read 'God']
Things to think about:
- Good parents will love, protect, provide for and even give their lives for their child - that's exactly what your Father did by sending Jesus for you (John 3:16)
- The Father has an amazing relationship with the Son - you can be a part of the Family too (Rom 8:15-17)
- A baby may, or may not, be wanted but an adopted child is always desired and chosen (1John 3:1)
- God never thinks negatively about you (Jer 29:11)
If you underestimate your own worth, meditate on these verses:
- Psalm 139: 13-15 (v.15 'wrought' = 'as if embroidered with various colours')
- Psalm 119: 73
- Psalm 18: 19
- Psalm 100: 3 ('and His we are')
- Zech 2:8 - 'apple' = 'pupil' (the one part of your body you will protect at any cost)
You are not too insignificant for God to care about:
David was the youngest son, looking after his sheep but God saw his heart - "this is the one" (1Sam 16:12)
He has picked you out because He has plans and purposes for you. You are special - you are loved by your heavenly Father.
